Whether you want serious comfort or are a minimalist seeking lightweight serenity, we’ve got you covered for 2017.

Check out our best beach chair picks for this year!

For those who love to tan their backs in style—this chair is the ultimate in back-tanning luxury. There is a pillow for your head, but it hides a little hole for your head so you can be on your tummy tanning your back and read your favorite trash mag at the same time! And big bonus points: it’s also a backpack chair!

Kelsyus Mesh Backpack Chair—This one is for the minimalists who still crave comfort. This chair is very compact and lightweight at 8.25 pounds, but still has a nice pillow, a comfy curve, and a place to stow your drink (or sunscreen, sunglasses, etc). This chair also gets big bonus points for being ultra-transportable—it’s a backpack chair!

This one is pretty wild, but dang is it comfy! It’s an inflatable lounger/couch that deflates into a very manageable size for carrying and it only weighs 4.5 pounds when deflated! This gives new meaning to the phrase “lounging around.” Want your next beach party or camping trip to be a hit? Inflate one of these babies and let the relaxing begin!

If Mr. Gadget had a beach chair, this would be it! I have never seen anything quite like this. It has everything you could ever want at the beach and then some! If you are a gadget lover extraordinaire who also loves the beach and has some money to burn, check this fancy beast out. It is a lounge chair with table to rest your drink, includes an umbrella, speakers for your music, and a stylish tote to transport it all in. It’s a little on the heavy side at 22 pounds, but when you think of all you get when you lug this bad boy out, it seems worth it!

REI is mainly associated with camping equipment, but they sell a beach chair in disguise. It has lots of different reclining positions, a drink holder, and a place to stash sunglasses, etc. It also can be carried as a backpack. The best part? REI is known for selling very high quality products. If you are tired of burning through cheap-o beach chairs, check this one out!

Zero gravity at the beach? This is another camping chair that also doubles as an amazing beach chair! A super comfy zero gravity lounger with a sturdy side table, this one deserves a look. I could see myself sitting in this with a nice cold one watching the waves roll in for hours 🙂 You will pay a price for having this amount of comfort on the beach—this chair is on the heavier side, but if you don’t mind a little bit of a haul for comfort or if you are rolling right up to the beach in a car or RV, this one might be for you!

Another zero gravity lounger, this one has a sweet canopy for shade and although not as “big-man-sturdy” as the Timber Ridge, it is a little lighter and less expensive.

While I love the sun, I am trying to avoid looking like a weathered piece of leather as my birthdays tick by. If you like a little shade like I do, check out the Sport-Brella chairs! With umbrellas attached to their chairs, the shade will be wherever you are sitting.

Some classics never die—this is one of them. My friend swears by this beach chair. Her favorite thing to do with these is to put it in the surf, sit back, and recline with a margarita in her tri-fold beach chair as the gentle waves cool her off. You might want to rinse it off afterward so it doesn’t rust. Have fun!

This chair is built for comfort and relaxation with four reclining positions, a pillow headrest, a drink holder, and smooth hardwood arms. This chair is very manageable at 8.3 pounds and has features that make it very comfy, especially if you like a little higher back than most beach chairs offer.

This is one of my favorite beach chairs. It’s loaded with features and carries easily on your back. The features you ask? Many different reclining positions including all the way back for when you want a nap, a cooler pouch, a regular pouch, a drink holder, and a nice little pillow. You will see a lot of these when you go to the beach and there’s a reason: they are an awesome beach chair choice! While not the Cadillac of beach chairs, it is lightweight and easy to carry at 7 pounds (newborn babies are heavier than this!) with lots of features.

This is a beach chair, lounger, and chaise lounge in one! This chair features a nice pouch to store goodies in the back, a sweet foot rest, comfy pillow, and comes in pretty lightweight for all the comfort you get at 11 pounds.

Hope you liked these reviews of some of the best beach chairs on the market. Now don’t waste another day at the beach in a bad beach chair—go out and get yourself a great beach chair for this summer!
